Marjorie Nell Colaw Jantz Owens traveled the United States as a song evangelist and preacher with her first husband Calvin Cephas Jantz. After Calvin received a fatal diagnosis, they settled in Olathe, Kansas, until his death in 1988. She married Verdean Owens in 1989 and served with him in Kokomo, Indiana, until retirement when they returned to Kansas and represented the Nazarene Publishing House in District Assemblies and Conventions and organized senior citizen retreats now called Prime Time events. She also helped organized trips for the Association of Retired Ministers and Missionaries. She was mother to Carolyn and stepmother to Dennis and Steve. She was playing piano for church services up until her death at age 90.
